Refund policy

1. Two separate rights

You have two ways to cancel, and the more generous one applies:

  1. Our pre-order cancellation. Cancel at any time before your device is dispatched, for any reason, and get a full refund. Just email contact@genicalc.com.
  2. Your statutory right of withdrawal. 14 days, described below.

2. Statutory right of withdrawal — 14 days

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The 14 days run from the day you (or someone you nominate) take physical possession of the device — not from the day you ordered. For a pre-order placed in August and delivered in November, the period starts in November.

To withdraw, tell us clearly before the period expires — an email to contact@genicalc.com is enough. You may use the model form in section 7 but you do not have to.

3. Sending the device back

Emailing us first is optional, but it gets you a reference and the current returns address of our EU warehouse (which we will publish here as soon as our fulfilment partner is contracted). Send the device back without undue delay and within 14 days of telling us you are withdrawing.

  • You pay the direct cost of returning the device when you withdraw. We estimate this at €8–15 from most EU countries (more from islands and remote areas) and about £10–20 from the United Kingdom by tracked post — UK returns go to our EU warehouse, so mark the parcel "returned goods".
  • We pay if the device is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered — see section 6a of the Terms of Service (Legal guarantee and warranty).
  • You are responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and functioning of the device.

4. Your refund

We refund all payments received, including the standard delivery cost, without undue delay and within 14 days of the day we are informed of your decision.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the device back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent it, whichever is earlier.

Refunds go to the original payment method. You will not incur any fee.

5. AI Plus and the withdrawal right

AI Plus is an ongoing digital service with its own 14-day right of withdrawal, which runs from the day the subscription contract is concluded — that is, the day you confirm a paid plan and enter payment details (the free months included with the device are not a subscription contract). If you ask us to start the paid service within those 14 days, we will ask for your express request and acknowledgement.

If you ask us to start supplying AI Plus during those 14 days and then withdraw, you keep the right of withdrawal: we will refund the price minus an amount proportionate to the service already supplied up to the moment you told us. Withdrawing from the subscription does not affect your rights over the device, and vice versa.

You may also cancel the subscription at any time for the future, from your account, without contacting us.

6. Exceptions

The withdrawal right does not apply to business and bulk orders (section 10 of the Terms of Service).
